The tour starts with Goreme Open-Air Museum which is in UNESCO World Heritage List. Goreme Open Air Museum is not a simple collection of fairy chimneys, it is a complex of nearly 600 cave churches which are decorated with the most beautiful biblical frescoes from the Byzantine period.
Next stop is Uchisar Castle that is one of the main symbols of Cappadocia. It is the highest point in the region that was used as a castle. On top of it is a panoramic 360 degree view over the whole area. It’s high promontory location gives you an a unique view of the surrounding valley.
After Uchisar, you are taken to Cavusin Old Greek Village. This empty ghost village sits on a hillside and resembles a worn down empty scene from the Hobbit. The abandoned village at Cavusin is a physical reminder of “Population exchange between Greece and Turkey”.
After Cavusin, you proceed to Pasabagi Fairy Chimneys which is one of the best places to see the geological rock formations of the region that offers very photographic scenes. Here, you will also see the famous three–headed fairy chimneys and grape gardens of the locals. Then after you continue to lunch.
The tour also includes a pottery demonstraton in a local pottery-making workshop near Red River, Avanos that is a small village famous for potteries.
Afterthat your guide will take you to Devrent Valley that is a great place to pull over in the car, hop out, and wander through all of the stone formations that in shapes of animals. Here you can imagine various creatures or objects by looking at the impressive geological formations.
